Privacy

What we collect, and what we do with it.

Short version: the only thing this website asks you for is a way to get back in touch, and the only thing we do with it is get back in touch. We do not sell it, trade it, or add you to anything.

What this site collects

The visit form. If you fill in the form on Coming to see us, we get your name, whatever contact detail you gave us, the grade you told us about, and anything you wrote about your child. That goes to the school office by email and is stored in this website so we can find it again.

Ordinary server records. Like every website, the server keeps short-lived logs of requests: an IP address, a browser type, a date and time. Our host uses these for security and for keeping the site up.

Nothing else. There are no advertising trackers, no social media pixels, and no third-party analytics on this site. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not know who you are unless you tell us.

What we do with it

We answer you. Somebody who works in this building reads what you sent and writes back, usually the same day. If your enquiry becomes an application, the information moves into our admissions records and is handled under the school’s own records policy.

We do not sell or rent anything you give us, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question. If we ever want to send you something other than a reply, we will ask you first.

Information about your child

People often tell us a great deal about their child in that form, because that is the point of it. We treat it the way we would want ours treated: it is read by the people who need to read it to answer you well, it is not shared outside the school, and it is not used for anything but working out whether Edison is the right place.

If your child is not enrolled and you would like us to delete what you sent, ask and we will, and we will confirm when it is done.

Cookies

This site sets no marketing or tracking cookies, so you will not find a consent banner here. WordPress may set a cookie if somebody signs in to administer the site, and our host’s caching may set a technical one to serve pages faster. Your reading settings — text size, letter spacing, motion — are remembered in your own browser and never leave it.

Places this site links to

Some links take you somewhere we do not run: the FACTS family portal, our giving page, the state of Tennessee’s funding pages, and our social accounts. Once you are there, that organisation’s privacy policy applies, not this one.

How long we keep things

Form submissions stay in the website while an enquiry is live and are cleared out periodically after that. Server logs are short-lived and controlled by our host. Admissions records, once a family applies, are kept under the school’s records retention policy.

Asking us about your information

Write to info@theedisonschool.com or call 615‑431‑5637 and ask what we hold, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. A person will handle it, not a form.

If this page changes

We will update this page and change the date below. If a change matters — if we start collecting something new, or start using a service that collects something — we will say so plainly rather than burying it here.
